Sharing folders without impacting storage If you need more space for your personal account, upgrade to Dropbox Plus to get 2 TB of space, or Dropbox Professional which has a 3 TB limit. Every member of a shared folder can add and modify the files in the shared folder, so shared folders take up space in each member's account. It offers Smart Sync and Remote Wipe features and an increased focus on collaboration. A Dropbox account can't sync more than its quota, so a 2 GB account (for example) can't sync more than 2 GB of files, including the space taken up by shared folders. Dropbox Business improves on an excellent cloud file storage solution for small to midsize businesses. Your Dropbox quota is calculated based on the total contents of your Dropbox, which includes shared folders. If you need more space, consider upgrading to Plus (2 TB) or Professional. But, if you have Dropbox for personal use, maybe you dont need that excessive. Dropbox uses your operating system network settings to apply auto-updates. The proxy settings you add using these steps aren't used to update the Dropbox app. What happens if my personal account is over quota? Upgrading to Dropbox Business doesnt add space to your personal Dropbox account. The first upgrade for individual users, Dropbox Plus, offers 2 TB of storage. If Dropbox software is installed on your computer, it will update regardless of whether you installed it or the application came preloaded by the device manufacturer. The expanded storage space for your Dropbox Business account won’t apply to your personal account. Unfortunately, upgrading one account doesn’t apply to your other accounts. ![]()
